Women's Soccer Shuts Out Sabres

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The MSOE women's soccer team bested the Sabres of Marian University on Wednesday night, as the Raiders posted another shutout win at Viets Field.

RESULT

Marian Sabres – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 3

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Raiders (5-3-4, 3-0-2 NACC) and Sabres (2-6-2, 1-4-0 NACC) chased each other up and down the pitch as the action was fast paced from the first minute of the contest.  After an early shot from Marian went wide left, the Raiders would begin to go to work on the offensive end, breaking through as Claire Bradford kicked off an MSOE attack, finding Viviana Jones who set up Kiley Schmitt for the opening goal of the contest.  The Raiders would outshoot the Sabres eight to one across the first half, with the Red and White maintaining their 1-0 lead heading to the break.
  • In the second half, it wouldn't take long for the Raiders to add to their lead, as Katie Owens sent a pass pack to Bradford, with the senior ripping a shot to the top right corner for another MSOE goal less than six minutes into the second half.  The Red and White would dominate the time of possession, turning away the only two shots on goal that the Sabres mustered.  McKinley Collins would put the victory on ice at the 66:41 mark, putting the Raiders up 3-0 with just under 25 minutes to play, with Bradford adding another assist to her already loaded stat line.  From there, twenty-eight different players would log minutes in the all-around team effort, securing the Red and White's third conference win of the year.
