MSOE Holds Off Edgewood 2-1

Box Score

MADISON, Wis. – Sophomore Logan Andryk scored a first-half goal and assisted on another to lead the MSOE men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over Edgewood Wednesday evening at Breese Stevens Field.

The Raiders (9-4-3, 5-3 NACC) got back in the win column after three-straight losses, maintaining third place in the NACC standings with two regular season matches remaining.

In just the sixth minute, sophomore Brock Shilling got the scoring started with his fifth goal of the season. Andryk beat his defender down the right side and crossed a centering pass to the middle of the penalty area where Shilling was to one-time the ball into the net from five yards out.

Andryk then got on the board with a takeaway from an Edgewood defender in the 28th minute. He dribbled in 1v1 on the keeper and capitalized for his league-league 14th goal of the season and the eventual game-winning goal.

The MSOE defense did the rest of the work, despite the Eagles pulling a goal back on a second-half penalty kick from Sam Quinones. For the match, the Raiders were outshot 11-10, but conceded just one shot on goal from the run of play.

Junior Garrett Farin collected his ninth win of the season with one save.

The Raiders return to action Saturday at Lakeland. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
