MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The MSOE men's soccer team dismantled the Cougars of Concordia Chicago on Saturday night, as the Red and White opened the game with three unanswered goals on the way to winning their first conference home game of the season.
RESULT
Concordia Chicago Cougars – 1
MSOE RAIDERS - 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Raiders (2-3-2, 1-0-1 NACC) jumped in front of the Cougars (2-3-1, 1-1-0 NACC) just past the midway point of the first half, as Juan Pablo Escobar set-up Andrew Calderon for a beautiful header to put the Raiders ahead 1-0 at the 27:03 mark. Not even three minutes later, Filip Aniecko would put a perfect crossing pass into the box on a corner kick, as Ditar Useni deflected it past the goalkeeper as the Red and White quickly stacked a 2-0 lead, which they held to the break as they outshot CUC ten to four across the opening 45 minutes,
- In the second half, MSOE continued to control the pace of play, as they held the Cougars to just four shots in the second half. The Raiders would up their lead to three with just under fifteen minutes to play, as Joey Loduca slid into the box and connected on an errant rebound from the Cougars, putting the Raiders up 3-0 at the 76:25 mark. The Cougars would take advantage of a Raider miscommunication on defensive end to spoil the shutout, but it had no effect on the outcome as MSOE ran away with the victory.
