Box Score MEQUON, Wis. – The MSOE men's soccer team scored twice in the final four minutes of regulation in an attempt to overcome a 3-0 deficit, but came up short in a 3-2 loss to Concordia Wisconsin in the NACC Tournament First Round Saturday afternoon at Fitting Field.
The fifth-seeded Raiders (10-6-3) put 11 of their 17 shots on the No. 3 Falcons' (10-7-2) goal, but did not break through until the 87th minute.
Facing that deficit, MSOE earned a penalty kick at 86:27 after a defender committed a red card offense in the penalty area. Sophomore Logan Andryk then stepped up to the penalty spot and pulled the first goal back for the Red and White. It was his league-leading 16th goal of the season.
The, as the final minute loomed, senior Patrick Gathof made it a 3-2 game with second goal of the season. Andryk plied Gathof with a cross inside the box that he was able to head home to give the visitors a chance.
Unfortunately, even against 10 men, that was the team's last attempt on goal as time expired on the comeback.
The Falcons got on the board first in the half when Gavin Winston scored the first of his two goals in the 28th minute. They carried that lead into halftime and expanded their lead late. Diego Campos made it 2-0 in the 73rd minute before Winston added a third Concordia goal in the 80th minute.
