Raiders Win at Maranatha For Third-Straight Victory

WATERTOWN, Wis. – Junior Austin Stueck scored 21 points and the MSOE men's basketball team shot 54.8 percent for the game on its way to a 66-59 victory over Maranatha Baptist Tuesday evening.

The Raiders (5-4) outshot the Sabercats (3-4) 63.6 percent to 25 in the second half to break a 31-31 halftime tie.

Stueck entered the game needing just 23 points to reach the 1,000-point mark for his career and finished with 998. He will get his next chance when MSOE returns to action Saturday at Dominican.

Sophomore Collin Seubert was the only other Red & White player in double-digits, scoring 10, while junior Connor Patterson finished with nine points and seven rebounds. Patterson was shooting 69 percent from the field entering the night and hit four of his five shot attempts.

Brady Moses scored 22 points to lead MBU, which had been averaging over 74 points per game so far this season. Desmond Robertson tallied 13 points off the bench and Josh Hughes chipped in 12.

The first half featured four lead changes, with the Red & White leading by as many as eight, but the teams went into intermission tied.

MSOE seized control of the game by scoring the first nine points of the second half to open a 40-31 lead. The home team would pull only as close as five points as the Red & White saw their lead grow to double-digits three times, including a game-high 11 points at 44-33.

The Raiders had an efficient night, shooting better than 50 percent from the field for the third-straight game and the fifth time this season. They also committed just 10 turnovers. Maranatha shot 34.5 percent on the night.
