Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The MSOE hockey team opened up the 2014 Harris Cup Playoffs with a 3-0 loss at No. 2-ranked Adrian Friday evening at Arrington Ice Arena.
The Raiders (7-18-1) fell behind in the two-game series against the Bulldogs (21-1-4). The teams will meet in the finale Saturday at 3 p.m. If MSOE wins, it can force a 20-minute mini-game for a spot in the semifinals.
Shelby Gray scored twice for Adrian, getting the home team on the board early in the second period. His goal came on the power play at 3:20 in the period.
The score remained 1-0 until Josh Cousineau doubled the Bulldogs led just 1:19 into the final period and Gray added his second goal at 7:31 to give them a 3-0 lead.
Sophomore Nick Kohn got the start in goal for the Raiders, stopping 32 shots in the game. James Hamby made 21 saves to get the shutout.
