MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's basketball team clicked on both ends of the court in putting together a complete performance to defeat Marian 65-36 Tuesday night at the Kern Center.

The Raiders (17-7, 15-4 NACC) shot 50 percent from the field, while limiting the Sabres (6-18, 4-15 NACC) to just 20.4 percent shooting on the night.

Junior Holly Denfeld scored a game-high 24 points with eight rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals. Freshman Brooke Scott drained all three of her three-point attempts on her way to 15 points, while senior Megan Kroll finished with 11 points and eight rebounds.

Hunter Godfroy was Marian's top scorer with nine points. Nicole Paulus added eight.

The Raiders got off to a fast start on both ends of the court and never looked back. They jumped out to a 16-4 lead in the first quarter, then took a 20-point lead at 28-8 with 4:27 remaining in the second quarter on a Scott three-pointer.

MSOE carried a 33-16 lead into halftime, shooting 50 percent for the half, while limiting the Sabres to just 23.1 percent.

After an evenly-played third quarter, the Raiders got hot in the fourth quarter. They opened the frame on a 17-3 run, pushing their lead to 31 points at 61-30 on a Denfeld steal and fastbreak layup.

The Red & White finished strong, shooting 57.1 percent from the field in the final quarter. It hit on 6-of-15 from three-point range on the night and went 9-for-10 at the free throw line. On the defensive end, the Raiders came away with 14 steals, led by Denfeld. Freshman Jamie Spanbauer came away with three steals, while three different players tallied two each.

MSOE held an opponent under 50 points for the seventh time this season, including its fourth time under 40 points.

The Raiders close out the regular season Saturday, hosting Rockford.
