Box Score

MILWAUKEE – Senior Megan Kroll scored 18 points as she and senior Marly Trier celebrated Senior Day with a 57-45 victory over Rockford Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale at the Kern Center.

The Raiders (18-7, 16-4 NACC) finished the regular season with a strong showing against the Regents (3-22, 1-19 NACC), sending their seniors out with a win.

MSOE clinched the No. 3 seed in next week's NACC Tournament and will host the loser of tonight's Lakeland/Benedictine matchup Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Kroll's big day included six rebounds, three assists and three steals. She was joined in double-figure scoring by junior Holly Denfeld, who had 15 points and eight rebounds, and freshman Brooke Scott, who had 10 points and six assists.

Trier finished with two points, but grabbed eight rebounds and two steals.

Mallorie Getzelman led Rockford with 13 points. Amanda Davis scored 12.

The Raiders got off to a slow start, trailing the Regents by as many as five points early, and fell behind 13-10 after one quarter. MSOE went ahead for the first time in the game at 16-15 on a Kroll layup with 7:36 remaining in the second quarter.

The Red & White led 18-17 about 90 seconds later when it rattled off an extended 31-9 run that stretched to the end of the third quarter. It outscored its visitors 20-9 in the second quarter and 19-4 in the third, capped by a pair of Trier free throws to make it 49-26 entering the final frame.

MSOE shot 41.4 percent from the field and hit on 7-of-10 free throws. It had a slight 22-20 advantage in steals, but dominated on the boards, 42-30. Defensively, the Raiders came away with 11 steals and blocked four shots, while holding RU to 35.3 percent shooting.

MSOE's 18 wins this season are second-most in school history, while its 16-4 conference mark is its best ever. The Raiders officially tied with Wisconsin Lutheran for second in the standings, the program's best-ever conference finish, but is the third seed via the head-to-head tiebreaker.
