AUBURNDALE, Florida – Senior Michael Boehmer tossed a complete game without allowing an earned run to send the MSOE baseball team to its fourth-straight win with a 4-1 victory over Concordia-Moorhead Friday in the final game of the team's Florida trip.

The Raiders (4-3) took down the Cobbers (1-5) to finish the trip with a winning record.

Boehmer (1-0) tied a school record with his 15th career win, scattering six hits over 9.0 innings with five strikeouts and no walks. He equaled the mark set by Stan Matthews (1980-83). Boehmer also moved into third place with 199.0 career innings pitched.

Sophomore Sam Swan went 3-for-3 with a walk and RBI to lead the offense while sophomore Joe Gilpin had a two-run single, walked, and scored a run.

Gilpin's run-scoring hit got the scoring started in the second inning. Senior Garrett Willems reached on a one-out error. Junior Nick Gross and senior Max Kemp then walked to load the bases. Gilpin followed his is base knock to score Willems and Gross.

MSOE added an insurance run in the fifth inning. Senior Owen Burnikel was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, took second on a wild pitch, and third on a ground out. Swan laced a single to left field to score Burnikel.

Gilpin and Swan teamed up to make it 4-0 in the seventh inning. Gilpin led off with a walk. He went first-to-third when Swan followed with a single. Swan took second on the throw, allowing Gilpin to score on the attempt to retire Swan.

Concordia pulled a run back in the eighth inning. After a lead-off single, the Cobbers bunted the runner to second and a passed ball moved him to third. He then scored on a ground out.

Boehmer was rarely threatened in the game, needing just 89 pitches (60 strikes) to navigate the game. Concordia only had a runner in scoring position twice in the game. In the first inning, back-to-back singles and wild pitch put runners on second and third with two outs. Boehmer came back to strike out the next batter looking to end the threat.

The Raiders return to action next weekend with four games against Hamline at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, home to the most recent Super Bowl. Game one of the week is late Friday night at 11:30 p.m.
