Box Score MILWAUKEE – There's always a first time for everything. Not only did MSOE women's basketball come away with a win on Saturday evening, head coach Hannah Trees earned her first career "w" as well during the 54-40 victory over Rockford.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (1-2, 1-0 NACC) came into opening night of the conference season with a 0-2 record, but there was no better opportunity early on to get a "w" than against Rockford (1-3, 0-2 NACC). Quarter one felt as if both teams were just testing the water as the first ten minutes expired with the score tied at 8-8. The Raiders felt one frame like that was enough and turned on the jets. The Red & White outscored the Regents in the three remaining quarters, with a game high 17 points coming in the third. The Raiders didn't have a good shooting game, only making their shots 32.4 percent of the time, but they balanced that out with quantity. MSOE took a total of 68 shots compared to just 46 for Rockford. The Red & White also had a pair of players working together, with Amy Reiser and Mikayla Dogs each recording a double-double. The Regents ran out of gas in the fourth, once against scoring just eight points, which allowed the Raiders to gain a 15-point lead at one point in the waning minutes of the 54-40 victory.
