Raiders Survive Late Charge By Rams

Box Score

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Less than 24 hours after coming back and winning their game against Northwestern St. Paul in dramatic fashion, the MSOE men's basketball team was back on the court looking to make it two in a row. While North Central chipped away at the Raiders lead in the second half, it was the Red & White who took home the victory and moved to 2-0 on the season.

RESULTS
MSOE – 81
North Central – 75

HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (2-0) dominated North Central (0-2) in the first half, outscoring the Rams 50-29. The Raiders shot 51.3 percent from the field while the defense limited North Central to just 31.6 percent in the intial frame. The Red & White dominated in the paint as well. They outscored NC 44-26, but there was a flip side to that. The Raiders committed 17 turnovers that were converted to 22 North Central points, while MSOE was only able to net eight off of the Rams' 11. The Raiders held a 26-point lead at one point in the game but North Central kept chipping away. They outscored the good guys by 15 points in the second half, cutting the massive lead to seven with 32 seconds left in the ballgame. However, North Central missed two of their three tray attempts in the waning seconds as the Raiders hold on to move the Rams to 0-2 on the young season.
