HOW IT HAPPENED
Illinois Tech (1-5, 1-2 NACC) scored the game's opening basket on Saturday, grabbing a lead they would never relinquish throughout the duration of the contest. The Scarlet Hawks started the game with a 23-5 run and continued to run it up from there. It took MSOE (3-5, 1-3 NACC) almost 15 minutes just to break into double digits and scored just 20 points in the half. The Raiders only converted on nine of their 29 shots taken in the opening 20-minutes and missed all nine three-point attempts. The woes continued into the second frame with their shooting percentage dropping from 31.0 to 21.4. Illinois Tech scored ten less points in the second half than they did in the first, but the damage was already too extensive to recover from. IIT shot 45.6 percent for the game and hit seven tray attempts to come away with their first win of the season in the Raiders fourth straight defeat.
