Box Score MILWAUKEE – Illinois Tech has been a thorn in the Raiders side for a year now, winning the last three and knocking the men's basketball squad out of the NACC tournament last winter. MSOE finally got their revenge tonight. In a fast paced, action packed game, the Red & White weathered a mid-second half storm from the Scarlet Hawks and made it four in a row with an 11-point victory.
RESULTS
Illinois Tech – 57
MSOE – 68
HOW IT HAPPENED
Anyone who wasn't in attendance for this one missed an incredibly exciting ballgame. MSOE (9-7, 6-5 NACC) and Illinois Tech (6-10, 4-7) went at it tonight, neither team counting themselves out of taking home the "w." However, the Raiders owned the first half, taking a ten point lead into the locker rooms after shooting 56.5 percent from the field and limiting the Scarlet Hawks to a 32 percent clip. The Red & White secured their biggest lead of the night shortly after play resumed, with 17-points separating the two teams. Unfortunately, IIT still had some fight in them. Midway through the period, Tech rallied off a 17-0 run, completely erasing the Raiders lead. MSOE wasn't deterred though. They immediately went back to playing their brand of basketball and built up their lead once more. By the time all was said and done, MSOE would come away victorious with their second straight 11-point victory and move to 6-5 on the conference season.
