Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE women's basketball opened up NACC North divisional play this evening when they welcomed the Edgewood Eagles, who are the defending NACC champions. Things did not get off to a good start for the Raiders who dug themselves a hole too great to get out of in the loss on Friday night.
RESULTS
Edgewood – 65
MSOE RAIDERS – 54
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tonight's contest was almost like déjà vu from one week ago. MSOE (0-2, 0-1 NACC North) once again got off to a slow start, much like they did last Saturday against Concordia Wisconsin. Edgewood (2-2, 1-0 NACC North) took advantage and outpaced the Raiders by 19 in the opening ten minutes. If you isolate that opening frame where the Eagles shot 76.9 percent from the field, the Red and White would have won the ballgame 44-36. Unfortunately, that is something you cannot do. The Raiders highest shooting percentage came in the final quarter at 35.3 percent. They outscored the Eagles 19-12 in the frame, but it was again too little too late as MSOE falls by 11.
RAIDER REMARKS
- MSOE forced Edgewood into making a total of 33 turnovers and created 27 points from those additional chances.
- It was not just tonight that the balance favored MSOE. The Red and White have played disciplined so far this season in the turnover stat column. They have only committed 27 in total while their opponents have racked up 55.
