Box Score WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Last night's women's basketball matchup between MSOE and Wisconsin Lutheran was a back-and-forth battle in the first half before poor shooting on the Raiders part ended their hopes of securing win number one of 2021. Tonight, the back-and-forth action lasted the duration of the contest, but it was the Warriors who walked away with another victory in a ten-point Raiders defeat on Saturday evening.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 48
Wisconsin Lutheran – 58
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (0-5, 0-4 NACC North) never had a huge lead in this evening's ballgame, in fact their largest advantage was just three points, but the Red and White were in this one until the middle of the fourth. A little under 24 hours after a contest that saw nine ties and five lead changes, the Raiders and Wisconsin Lutheran (2-0, 2-0 NACC North) exchanged the lead 11 times to go along with seven ties. MSOE came out of the gates shooting almost 55 percent in the first quarter but fell off that pace and settled for a 29.3 shooting clip overall. Still the Raiders were up by three with just over eight minutes left, but the Warriors would start to pull away after that point. Assisted by MSOE foul trouble that persisted the entire game and led to Amy Reiser and Lexi Maruga fouling out and forced Kayla Barreto to sit the majority of the first half, WLC went on a 17-4 run in the last 6:34 to earn their second straight ten-point victory over the Red and White.
