Box Score MILWAUKEE – With a shootout victory already in the books, MSOE men's hockey welcomed Lake Forest to the Kern Center for their home opener and the last game of the weekend series. A big third period for the Foresters spoiled the Raiders plans however as LFC downed the Red & White by one.
FINAL SCORE
Lake Forest – 4
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lake Forest (3-1-1, 1-0-1 NCHA) found the back of the net first this evening but Jack Nickels evened things up for MSOE (1-1-2, 0-1-1 NCHA) late in the opening period to head into the first intermission tied at 1-1.
- Garrett Gintoli scored the first of his two goals in the second as the only tally in the frame gave the Raiders the advantage heading into the last 20 minutes.
- Gintoli padded the MSOE led on the power play just 25 seconds into the third, but it was all LFC from that point on. The Foresters scored three unanswered to storm back and take home the win with a final score of 4-3.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders put Lake Forest on the power play seven different times. Thankfully the Foresters were only able to cash in once.
- MSOE had the slight edge in the faceoff circle as they won the draw 37 out of 67 times.
