Box Score MILWAUKEE – Coming off a win in their season opener, MSOE men's basketball was looking to make it a perfect two for two in this years NACC-UMAC challenge. Unfortunately, Northwestern (Minn.) was able to cash in from the charity stripe to hand the Raiders their first defeat of the season.
FINAL SCORE
Northwestern (Minn.) – 64
MSOE RAIDERS – 55
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (1-1) found themselves in a nine-point hole after a first half in which Northwestern (1-1) shot 48.4 percent from the field.
- The Raiders defense stepped up however in the second, cutting that percentage down by 18 points.
- Meanwhile, the Red & White were able to get the Eagles lead down to just three with five and a half minutes to play.
- However, UNW was able to get to the free throw line 23 times in the final frame to offset their poor shooting. They converted on 15 of their 25 attempts from the line overall, allowing them to pull away at the end for a nine point victory.
