Box Score MILWAUEE – Points have come at a premium for the Raiders this season. They have been slowly trickling in based on all their overtime contests, so you knew that the Red & White wanted to finish things off in regulation tonight. Outscoring your opponent by three is a good way to do that. The Raiders offense was clicking throughout the evening as they took down Lake Forest at home on Friday night.
FINAL SCORE
Lake Forest – 1
MSOE RAIDERS – 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
The scoring started late in the first period tonight as Chandler Watson waited all the way until 18:40 to score the first MSOE (7-5-1, 2-4-1 NCHA South) goal of the game thanks to a helper from Christian Sabin. Kevin Paganini netted the lone goal of the second on the power play with Nigel Nelson getting the credit for the assist. Lake Forest (0-2-0, 0-2-0 NCHA South) finally got on the board and cut the Raiders lead in half with a goal at 4:09 of the third period, but that would be the only one they scored all night. Jack Nickels put the Red & White back up by two just over three minutes later and Stian Owens added a shorthanded empty netter to round out the MSOE scoring as the Raiders coast to victory behind solid defense and an onslaught of shots on Friday night.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Three more shots and the Raiders would have been in the record books. Their 52 shots tonight were just shy of the 55 needed to crack the top five of shots taken in a game in program history.
