MILWAUKEE – Weather forced Raiders softball and Wisconsin Lutheran to postpone day one of the back-to-back doubleheaders on Saturday but nothing but sun graced the MSOE Athletic Field this afternoon. The only thing that was falling from the sky was Red & White hits as the home team tallied a total of 25 in the sweep of the Warriors.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Wisconsin Lutheran (7-15, 0-6 NACC North) gave it their all on Sunday, but it just was not enough to prevent MSOE (18-1, 5-0 NACC North) from winning their sixth and seventh straight games. The Warriors actually took an early 2-1 lead in the top of the third inning, but the Raiders bats woke up in the bottom half. The Red & White scored two in their half of that frame thanks to a home run that Morgan Long obliterated over the left field fence and then proceeded to post a six spot on the scoreboard in the fourth. Lorrin Pondo was on her game once again, throwing seven innings with no earned runs and seven strikeouts in the 9-2 win.

MSOE spread the offense out a little more in the second game. After WLC grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, the Raiders would go on to score a run in every inning but the fourth. The offensive output once again totaled nine runs and the Red & White enacted the eight-run rule on a Kara McKenna two RBI double in the bottom of the sixth. Emily Wiederholt continued her hot streak by going all six and striking out four while allowing just one run in the 9-1 victory.
