MILWAUKEE – No. 17 MSOE softball opened up their biggest series of the year this afternoon when they welcomed No. 24 Concordia Wisconsin to MSOE Athletic Field. Unfortunately, there weren't many things that went right for the Red & White as they dropped games one and two of the four game matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The No. 17 MSOE (24-4, 11-3 NACC North) offense was absent in both games today, an extremely unusual occurrence for a team that is hitting .388 on the season and averaging 7.14 runs per game. At the same time, the No. 24 Concordia Wisconsin (24-4, 14-0 NACC North) pitching was nearly unhittable in game one. The only baserunner the Raiders were able to get was Faith Matta who singled to lead off the bottom of the sixth. The Falcons scored one in the first and two in the second off starter Lorrin Pondo as CUW grabbed the game one win 3-0.

While the Raiders increased their hit total by seven in the second game of the afternoon, they were only able to push one run across home plate even after three Falcon errors. Again, CUW scored three combined runs in the second and third inning to take the lead. The Red & White had a rally going in their last at bats and the tying runs were in scoring position but a strike out and fly out ended their hopes of a comeback as Concordia Wisconsin was victorious 3-1 and claimed the first two games in the series.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will wrap up their four-game slate against CUW when they take on the Falcons in Mequon tomorrow afternoon. Game one of the doubleheader is scheduled to start at 3:00 pm.
