Box Score MADISON, Wis. – Tough luck has been the name of the game for MSOE men's basketball since the beginning of December and tonight's contest against Edgewood on the road was no different. A last second free throw dealt the Raiders a one-point loss on Saturday, marking the fourth time in their last five games that they have fallen to their opponents by four points or less.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 60
Edgewood – 61
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (5-7, 1-4 NACC) was in control for most of the first half, running up a ten-point lead against Edgewood (5-7, 4-1 NACC) with just over six minutes remaining in the period.
- Unfortunately, a 9-0 Eagles run got EC right back into the ballgame as they held a one-point advantage at the half.
- Edgewood held control of the lead for much of the second half, but staunch defense allowed MSOE to stay within reach as they held the Eagles to just 8-of-26 shooting in the second frame.
- A 7-0 run in the final few minutes of the contest allowed the Raiders to tie the ballgame on a Donovan Carter layup with 23 seconds remaining.
- A foul off an offensive rebound got the Eagles to the charity stripe where they made one of two to take the lead. The Red & White had a chance at a last second shot, but it wouldn't fall in MSOE's 61-60 loss on the road.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Tonight's loss snapped a Raiders six game winning streak over Edgewood. MSOE is still 8-2 over their last ten games against the Eagles, however.
