Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's basketball was playing for more than just a win on Saturday. They were also playing to make sure that the career of Brian Miller came to a close on the right foot. It was a tense, back and forth affair between the Raiders and Luther but a late second half rally allowed the Red & White to close the book on an era of MSOE basketball with a 49-48 win.
FINAL SCORE
Luther – 48
MSOE RAIDERS – 49
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Having been through two high scoring contests to start the season, MSOE (2-1) decided to switch things up with a game that was fought in the trenches against Luther (1-2). The Raiders started off the game dominating play and built up a 13 point lead before the Norse brought it back down to just three at halftime.
- The second half was a different story. There were three ties and six different lead changes, one of which gave Luther the lead with 4:10 left to go.
- The Norse grew their advantage to four at one point, but the Red & White were able to stay close the entire time. Down by two, a Donovan Carter layup and a Steve Dillard dunk allowed the Raiders to grab the lead again and Mason Dopirak sank a jumper with 16 seconds left to seal the deal for the Raiders.
- Luther pulled within one off a three pointer with just a few ticks left on the clock but MSOE was able to inbound the ball without any issues and downed their opponents by one.
