HOW IT HAPPENED

  • vs. Buena Vista
    • MSOE (3-3) traded two forfeits with Buena Vista to put each team on even footing with six matches remaining between them.
    • The Red & White got wins from Harry Nemcek (165: Dec 8-2), Joseph Estrada (165: MD 12-3), and Jack Schmitt (197: Fall 3:36) to keep pace with the Beavers and end the match tied at 25-25.
    • The Raiders ended up taking home the win based on tiebreakers to defeat the Beavers for the first time in program history.
  • vs. Nebraska Wesleyan
    • The Raiders had some work to do after dropping the first two matches via no contest which put them down 12-0 right out the gate against host Nebraska Wesleyan.
    • MSOE battled back though. The comeback started with wins from Max Sanderfoot (149: Dec 11-8), Michael Smith (157: MD 9-1), and Nemcek (165: Fall 6:44) before Caleb Brick (184: Dec 10-4), Schmitt (197: MD 12-4), and Noah Nieberle (285: Dec 5-0) capped off the tying 23-23 effort.
    • The Raiders once again took home the win via the tiebreaking process for their second victory of the afternoon.
  • vs. Simpson
    • Their bout against Simpson was one of the two that didn't bounce the Raiders way.
    • MSOE got only two wins in the dual. The first came from Smith in a 6-1 decision at 157 before Brick won via fall at 2:07 for six of the Red & White's nine total points.
  • vs. Cornell
    • The match against Cornell mirrored their battle against Simpson as the Raiders were only able to secure nine points once again.
    • Connor Nagela battled at 141 in a close bout and came away with three points on a 9-6 decision before Brick won for the third time on the afternoon with a fall at 3:55.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will be off for the holidays before hitting the mat again in their second home dual of the season. That match will take place against Aurora on Wednesday, January 4th at 7:00 pm.
