Box Score LOS ANGLES – MSOE men's basketball packed their bags for sunny California as they began a two game road trip by taking on Occidental in LA. The Raiders tried to stay close in the first half but solid shooting from the Tigers held off the Red & White in a double digit loss on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (5-5, 2-2 NACC) was forced to play catchup most of the evening against Occidental (4-5) as the Tigers jumped out to a steady lead for most of the first 10 minutes of the opening period. The Raiders fought back though and finally took their first advantage of the contest with 11:31 left to go before halftime.
- The Red & White lead wouldn't hold up though. The Tigers went on a 18-10 run to close out the frame and led by nine heading into the break.
- The MSOE shooting took a hit in the second half as they shot just 35.7 percent and went 2-9 from beyond the arc. Occidental kept up their near 50 percent shooting pace which prevented the Raiders from climbing back into the contest in a 20 point loss to begin their road trip.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Tonight's contest was the first time these two teams have met since the first game in their series back in 2013. The Raiders were the victors in that one however as they came away with the 84-82 win.
