HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- With two no hitters under her belt already this week, No. 17 MSOE (11-3, 4-2 NACC) starting pitcher Kennedy Lehn was once again masterful in game one. She kept Benedictine (10-6, 2-2 NACC) off the board in her complete game shutout and struck out nine batters in the process.
- Morgan Long got the offensive effort started with her second home run of the season in the fourth inning and the Raiders added runs in the sixth and seventh to take home the 4-0 victory to open the day.
- Game Two
- Game two featured a little more offense from their opponent than they are used to seeing. Benedictine put up eight runs in the first four innings and were up 8-5 heading into the fifth.
- The Red & White wouldn't give up so easily though. Singles from Kara McKenna and Faith Matta allowed the Raiders to pull within one run and a Celine Pacheco single in the sixth plated two to give MSOE the 9-8 advantage.
- Unfortunately, the Eagles tied the ballgame in their half of the sixth and walked it off in the bottom of the seventh to steal a 10-9 win to close out the day. The Raiders made four errors in the loss.
