#19 Raiders Add Two More To Win Total

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – MSOE softball has a busy couple of weeks ahead of them to close out the 2022 regular season and that stretch started this afternoon when they took on Concordia Chicago on the road. The Raiders got solid results from both sides of the ball as they had no problems brushing aside the Cougars to add two more tallies in their win column.

RESULTS
#19 MSOE RAIDERS – 4
Concordia Chicago – 2

#19 MSOE RAIDERS – 6
Concordia Chicago – 0

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Game One
    • No. 19 MSOE (16-4, 9-3 NACC) provided starter Kennedy Lehn some run support early thanks to RBIs from Kara McKenna and Lauren Stefanczyk in back-to-back innings.
    • The 2-0 lead didn't last long though as Concordia Chicago (11-11, 5-4 NACC) tied the game in the fourth off a single and bases loaded walk.
    • The Raiders didn't let that phase them however as Stefanczyk and Caitlyn Spreitzer drove in two runs during the next half inning to give MSOE the 4-2 advantage.
    • Lehn locked things down from there and gave up just two hits from the fifth inning on as the Red & White won 4-2.
  • Game Two
    • There was no giving up of any leads in game two. Sarah Grossman got the start for MSOE and went all seven without surrendering a single run to the Cougars.
    • Meanwhile, the Raiders were busy on the other side of the ball. Stefanczyk kept her productive day going by getting the Red & White on the board in the first inning with an RBI single before Spreitzer doubled in a run during the top of the third with Stefanczyk singling in two more just one batter later.
    • MSOE added one last run via a McKenna single to lock down a 6-0 victory for the doubleheader sweep.
