HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- Kennedy Lehn got the start for No. 17 MSOE (9-1, 2-0 NACC) just 24 hours after throwing the programs eighth no hitter. The junior picked up where she left off and once again went the distance, allowing only three hits in the process.
- While the Raiders were able to pick up 10 hits off UW-La Crosse (12-7, 0-0 WIAC), the only two runs of the game were scored in the bottom of the fourth.
- After back-to-back singles from Kara McKenna and Grace Salaja, Jenna Trewyn singled to center and Morgan Long grounded out to third to bring home the only runs the Red & White needed in a 2-0 victory.
- Game Two
- It looked like the Raiders five game win streak was going to go by the wayside based on how the second contest of the day started. The Eagles scored five runs in the first three innings to quickly go up 5-0.
- Everything changed in the bottom of the third, however. With the bases loaded, Trewyn reached base via an error by the UWL right fielder to pull within four. The next hit erased that deficit completely. Long was the next batter up and deposited the ball beyond the left field fence for a grand slam, making it a 5-5 game in the process.
- The Raiders loaded the bases again in the fifth and was able to produce three more runs to go up 8-5. The UW-La Crosse threat was dismissed in the top half of the next inning after which the game was called due to darkness, handing the Red & White an 8-5 win.
