Raiders Sweep Pair Of NACC Foes

MSOE women's tennis began play this weekend looking to get back on track after suffering their first NACC loss of the year against Edgewood this past Wednesday. The Raiders certainly righted the ship as they picked up wins over both St. Norbert and Edgewood over the weekend.

MATCH SCORES
MSOE RAIDERS – 6
St. Norbert – 3

Marian – 2
MSOE RAIDERS – 7

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • vs. St. Norbert
    • MSOE (4-4, 4-1 NACC) took care of business starting off with doubles play in which the Raiders swept all three matches by the score of 8-4.
    • St. Norbert (1-6, 1-3 NACC) tried to storm back by taking three of the six singles matches, with two others going into extra points or sets, but it was too little too late for the Green Knights.
    • Michaela Haensgen won 6-2, 6-3 in the second spot as the Raiders earn their third NACC win of the year.
  • vs. Marian
    • The Red & White also had no issues dispatching Marian (4-4, 2-2 NACC) on Sunday as they won by five points.
    • Just like they did against SNC, the Raiders swept doubles action and won with 8-2, 8-3, and 8-2 scores.
    • Marian grabbed two points to begin solo action out of the first two spots, but MSOE took care of business the rest of the way in games three thru six.
    • Bethany Noonan won 6-1, 6-1 in the sixth spot and Hope Triplett went 6-3, 6-1 as the Raiders move to three games above .500 in conference.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Red & White will hop out of conference play to take on Lake Forest in Illinois on Wednesday. First serve is slated for 4:00 pm.
