MILWAUKEE – MSOE women's basketball entered their first home game of the new year with some positive momentum after a gritty performance against the defending NACC champions in WLC. The Raiders couldn't keep it going however as the offense couldn't get into gear in a 15 point loss against the Eagles of Edgewood on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• MSOE (3-10, 2-4 NACC) opened up the contest with a poor shooting first quarter but were only down by six heading into the second thanks to their defensive efforts to prevent Edgewood (6-7, 3-3 NACC) from pulling away early.
• The Raiders hung with the Eagles in the next frame as well but still couldn't outscore their foe and went into the halftime break down 10.
• With the game still within reach, the Red & White struggled to get anything going in the third quarter. They shot just 13.3 percent while Edgewood continued making their attempts at a 50 percent clip, putting them down by a sizable margin with ten left to play.
• The fourth stanza was more kind to MSOE than the previous three, but their hole was still too deep to climb out of even when outscoring the Eagles in the quarter and ended the contest with a 64-49 defeat.

• Mahima Chokshi has led the Raiders in scoring over the past two games, averaging 17.5 points per contest during that span.
• The Eagles were a dominate force in the paint this afternoon and outscored MSOE within the key 42-18.
