Box Score MILWAUKEE – Returning to the Kern Center for the first time in 2023, the Raiders men's basketball team looked to keep their winning streak going against Edgewood College. A huge lead MSOE built in the second frame looked to be too much to stop the Eagles comeback and that proved to be the case in a seven point win on Saturday afternoon.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 71
Edgewood - 64
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Three-point shooting early helped set the tone for MSOE (8-5, 4-2 NACC) as the game started out with a successful attempt from Matus Dopirak from behind the arc. Cade Beekman swished a three-pointer late in the first half as well to extend the Raiders advantage to 11, the largest in the opening period before they went into the break leading 32-19.
- Steve Dillard helped extended the lead out of the locker rooms with a trey of his own which was followed up with a jump shot from Mason Dopirak to increase their lead to the largest of the game at 16.
- Edgewood (1-13, 1-6 NACC) refused to give up without a fight however, as they worked their way to within two points with just three minutes left. Thankfully, two free throws from the eldest Dopirak helped seal the deal on the victory for the Red & White and finished off the 71-64 win.
