Men's Hockey Kicks Off Season Defeating #15 Babson

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's hockey team kicked off the 2023-24 in high fashion with a late third period victory against #15 Babson College.

FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 4

#15 Babson - 1

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first power play opportunity for MSOE (1-0-0, 0-0-0 NCHA) went exactly to play as Carson Jones took the feed from Cole Beilke and Preston Park for the first goal of the season at the 5:34 mark for a 1-0 lead. In the second period, the Raiders held down Babson (0-1-0, 0-0-0 NEHC) until the final minute when a power play of their own went their way to tie the game at one heading into the final period.
  • The two teams went back and forth until the final five minutes when the Kern Center crowd came alive and Beilke and Brennan Dickey found Charlie Skinner for a 2-1 lead. Immediately going on the power play, Gramm McCormack fed Jacob Bosse off a faceoff to extend the lead 3-1. With the Beavers' goalie pulled in a last-ditch effort, Jackson Hughes capped it all off from CJ Kline with an empty netter.
