MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's team used a strong defensive plan to completely shut down Marian University to advance to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) championship game.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Marian - 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (18-1-3, 13-1-0 NACC) had 13 shots on goal in the game with seven of those coming in the first half. It wasn't until under seven minutes to play for the lone goal to make its way through as a corner kick from Emma Halverson sailed into Maggie Thillman for a header that tipped up on the post and found it's way through as the Raiders headed into the break with a 1-0 lead.
- The Raiders defense didn't allow any shots on goal for Marian (11-4-4, 9-3-1 NACC) throughout the entire match. The Sabres only had two corner kick opportunities, one in each half, but the Raiders controlled the box to not let anything even think about coming towards the goal.
