APPLETON, Wis. – The MSOE men's hockey team suffered its first loss of the season traveling up to Appleton to face Lawrence University.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Lawrence (2-1-1, 1-0-1 NCHA) wanted to strike early early, out-shooting MSOE (2-1-1, 0-1-1 NCHA) 11-6, but neither could get anything through, heading into the end of the first period deadlocked at zero. The Vikings struck first at the 11:08 mark, but Seth Bernard and Jackson Yee found Preston Park under two minutes to go in the second period to tie the game at one heading into the third period.
• The shot count was close in the third period 6-8, with the Vikings having the edge. Unfortunately, the Vikings took the lead with three and a half minutes remaining, which the Raiders couldn't respond with.
