CHICAGO – The MSOE men's basketball team picked up their first conference victory of the season as they pulled away late down at Illinois Tech.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The brothers of Mason Dopirak and Matus Dopirak added baskets to give MSOE (2-6, 1-3 NACC) an early 4-0 before Illinois Tech (3-5, 2-2 NACC) settled in. Anay Amoah and Max Beuthin added points coming off the bench before Chase Cummings splashed the lone three-point make of the game for the Raiders to build their lead up to nine.
- The Scarlet Hawks cut into the deficit making their way to within two just over three minutes remained in the first half. The Raiders closed out the half on a 11-4 run as they went into the half with a 33-26 lead.
- The offenses on both sides exploded as the second half began, especially for the Scarlet Hawks who tied the ballgame at 43, taking their first lead 44-43. After the two sides answered one another, a pair of free throws from Mas. Dopirak sparked a 13-4 run to give the Raiders their largest lead of the game, 76-64, with under four minutes to play. While the Scarlet Hawks created belief down six with under two minutes to play, but the Raiders being near perfect on the day from the free throw line put it ice.
