ROCKFORD, Ill. – The MSOE men's basketball team battled with Rockford University Saturday afternoon, needing an overtime session, but couldn't overcome the Regents.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The two sides each traded baskets before Rockford (5-2, 1-1 NACC) had a 12-5 lead in the early stages. Back-to-back layups from Anay Amoah sparked a 10-2 run capped off by him to tie it at 20 at the halfway mark of the first half. Amoah and Mason Dopirak were answering everything the Regents was scoring, as MSOE (1-5, 0-2 NACC) headed into the break down one, 41-40.
• Donovan Carter started the second half with a three-pointer to retake the lead as a Matus Dopirak layup three minutes in extended it 48-44. Aidan Blackmon pushed the lead to seven after a three-pointer, but the Regents battled back to even things up midway through. Carson Cordelli hit a clutch layup under a minute to play to take a 77-75 lead, however the Regents matched it with a jumper of their own with two seconds left to force overtime.
• Chase Cummings kicked off the overtime period with back-to-back baskets for the four-point lead, quickly answered by the Regents. The Raiders found themselves down with 1:38 remaining and couldn't retake a lead, falling 95-90.
