STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The MSOE men's basketball team made their way back into the win column Thursday evening at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. The Raiders jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 69
Wisconsin-Stevens Point - 67
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (3-8, 1-4 NACC) wasted no time with jumping out to a big lead as Donovan Carter scored the first six points for a 12-2 lead. As the half went on, Wisconsin-Stevens Point (5-5, 0-0 WIAC) closed their margin to within one in the final three minutes, but Mason Dopirak knocked in five of the last seven points as the Raiders sat comfortably with a 33-25 lead.
- Carter came out of the break the same way he started the game, extending the lead to 13 in the first two minutes. The Raiders sat comfortably the whole half but couldn't put away the Pointers as they clawed to within one under a minute to play. The Raiders picked up an offensive rebound late in the shot clock for Dopirak to add cushion with a free throw. Dopirak once again put the game on ice with a steal.
