MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The MSOE women's basketball team closed out 2023 against the Fighting Scots of Monmouth College. The Raiders held the lead from buzzer to buzzer, holding the Scots to just eight points in the first half. The victory marks the eighth win for the team this season, after winning only seven games all of last season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (8-3, 2-0 NACC) came out of the gates slow on the offensive end until Dani Mendez drove to rim successfully on back to back possessions, starting the momentum for the Raiders to go on a 10-1 run to close out the first quarter, capped off with a jump shot from Elly Kohl just before the buzzer. The Raiders ended the first quarter up 14-5.
- The Raiders would hold Monmouth to just three points the entire second quarter, going on a 15-3 run heading into the half. Seven different Raiders scored on the run, including four points from Nina Perl.
- The Fighting Scots came out of the half trying to claw their way back into the contest. Monmouth went on a 20-15 run to outscore MSOE in the third, bringing the score to 46-28 in favor of the Raiders.
- Halena Hill would catch fire to close the game, scoring 14 points in a five minute span, including huge back-to-back threes to a massive reaction from the fans in the Kern Center.
