MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's lacrosse was back at Viets Field for a non-conference matchup and tried their hand at extinguishing Carthage. The Raiders kept things close through three quarters, but the Firebirds were able to pull away in the final 15 minutes, snapping the Raiders seven game win streak in the process.

Carthage – 21
MSOE RAIDERS – 12

HOW IT HAPPENED

• MSOE (7-4) struggled to find a rhythm in this afternoon's game at home, though they kept pace with Carthage (9-3) early on. The Firebirds opened up the game with two straight strikes before Soren Savard and Tanner Whipps evened things up with a goal each.
• Back and forth the game went in a 13 point first quarter, and while Savard and Whipps allowed the Raiders to even things up once again at 5-5, the Raiders would never grab control of the lead.
• The Red & White still hung with Carthage though and trailed by only four heading into the last 15 minutes of play. Unfortunately, the Firebirds outscored the Raiders 7-2 in the final period of play to take home a 21-12 win that didn't really illustrate how close the game actually was.

RAIDER REMARKS

• The Red & White haven't had much luck with Carthage and are still looking for their first win of the all-time series.
• Soren Savard, Tanner Whipps, Riley Woyatas, and Dawson Smith each had multiple goals and both Sam Thompson and Ethan Marasco each had at least two assists.
• The Raiders were 2-for-2 on the man-up this afternoon.
