RIPON, Wis. – The MSOE women's volleyball kicked off their season taking part in the Ripon College Classic. The Raiders showed clear dominance in both matches coming out of day one with a pair of sweeps to begin their season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- vs. Ripon
- The two sides kept things competitive in set one before kills late from Ava Larson and Emma Schattschneider gave MSOE (2-0) the first set victory 25-21. It was all Raiders in set two as they jumped out a lead as large as 14 to eventually win 25-11. Ripon (0-1) didn't go down easy in set three having a 18-17 lead. The Raiders closed on an 8-1 run capped off by a Schattschneider kill to finish off the sweep 25-19.
- Schattschneider led the Raiders with 11 kills, followed by Ava Larson with seven. The Raiders also were dominant on their serving with eight service aces, led by Gillian McDaniels with three.
- vs. Martin Luther
- In a set of long runs, the Raiders took set one to begin their match against Martin Luther (0-2) 25-22 before absolutely dominating the second set 25-11. The Knights came back strong in set three to tie things at 13 before a kill from McDaniels sparked 10-1 leading to an eventual sweep 25-18.
- The Raiders were led again by Schattschneider in kills with 10 in match two. The serving dominance from the Red & White stayed in this match as well with six total, including three from Emma Braun.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will get ready for day two of the Ripon College Classic tomorrow as they get set to take on Wisconsin-Superior at 10:00 AM with University of Dubuque to follow at 2:00 PM.
