MILWAUKEE – It was the battle of the teams without a loss on the year as MSOE women's soccer welcomed Simpson College to Viets Field for the first time. Both teams played an intense game but it was a Raiders goal early in the second period that gave them the victory over the Storm on Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half featured a game of back and forth soccer between MSOE (4-0-2) and Simpson (4-1) with each team getting decent time in their own attacking zone. However, neither squad found the back of the net in a scoreless period.
- Having outshot the Storm 6-2 in the opening 45 minutes, the Raiders threw another eight towards the net in the second frame and outpaced Simpson once again in that category, this time by three.
- It was early on in the second period that one of their 14 total attempts got past the Storm's keeper. Addison Spilman helped set up teammate Elizabeth Kuhn for her fourth goal of the season in the 57th minute to make it 1-0 MSOE.
- Simpson still wouldn't go away but keeper Megan Lacina made some tremendous saves to keep them off the scoreboard in a one goal Raiders victory to keep their loss column clean through six games.
RAIDER REMARKS
- This was the second straight win over a team that the Raiders never faced off against before this season. They also beat the College of St. Scholastica on Saturday by the score of 4-0.
