MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's soccer team locked down their defense Wednesday evening, defeating Elmhurst University 2-1, behind a pair of Raiders scoring their second goals of the season.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
Elmhurst - 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (3-1-1) kept the ball on their side of the field for a majority of the first half and was rewarded in the 36th minute as Adrian Manchado slid one through to connect with Nico Picha to get the Raiders on the scoreboard. As the second half rolled in, Lukas Schwenke took it himself to the back of the net to extend their lead 2-0.
- The Raiders defense kept their goalies relaxed as the lone shot on goal taken by Elmhurst (1-4-1) snuck its way through, only having nine total shots taken during the game. The Bluejays had eight corner kicks to help try and produce offense, but the Raiders locked them down there as well, letting the clock run out to take the victory 2-1.
RAIDER REMARKS
- This is the first victory all-time against the Bluejays after their first time meeting last year resulting in a draw. The Raiders were down 3-0 after 62 minutes but rallied with a goal in the final minute to draw 3-3.
