MADISON, Wis. – Getting started with conference play, the MSOE men's soccer team brought a heavy offense taking down Edgewood College in the state's capital.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 4
Edgewood - 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With the ball being traded back and forth for the first 23 minutes, a foul in the box set up Freddy Comparato for a penalty kick, going past the goalie for the first goal of the game on the board for MSOE (4-1-1, 1-0 NACC). Just minutes later off a corner kick, Danny Aranda connected with Nico Picha to give a quick 2-0 lead, eventually leading into half.
- Keeping the pressure on in the second half, Adrian Manchado kept being a feeder for Raiders goals, feeding Tanner Cellio pushing forward 3-0. Michael Rohrman proved the Raiders were backing down with a goal of his own making the game 4-0. While Edgewood (4-2-1, 1-1 NACC) added a goal in the final minutes, the lead proved to be too large as the Raiders took their conference opener 4-1.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders keep their winning streak alive against the Eagles, taking 13 straight, having not lost since 2011.
