MILWAUKEE –
Nico Picha keeps his goal streak going as the MSOE men's soccer team defeated Carthage College Sunday afternoon.
RESULT
MSOE Raiders – 3
Carthage - 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- An early mistake from Carthage (4-2-0) as the keeper let one past in his own goal gave MSOE (5-1-1, 1-0-0 NACC) to get on the board just ten minutes in. As it looked like the Raiders were going to be able to head into the break with a lead, a foul in the box gave the Firebirds a penalty opportunity, hitting the top right corner of the net, tying up the match at one.
- The Raiders looked for the comfortability that they had in the first half by attacking early to begin the second half. As Freddy Comparato broke free, a shot from him was saved but Daniel D'Amato was right there for rebound to put it in to give them a 2-1 lead. Picha put the match away late as Comparato added his second assist of the day making it a 3-1 final.
RAIDER REMARKS
- This is the first victory over the Firebirds in just the second meeting between the two, with the first meeting coming back in 2021 in Kenosha.
