MADISON, Wis. – The MSOE men's basketball found themselves down double digits in the first half to eventually storm back in the second half for a nine-point lead of their own. Unfortunately, Edgewood College made a run of their own to put away the Raiders.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 66
Edgewood - 69
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood (7-9, 6-4 NACC) used the home court to their advantage to start the game 20-8. Free throws from Carson Cordelli and three-pointer from Chase Cumming broke up their scoring skid, but the Eagles held a similar advantage for most of the first half. With under three minutes to play in the first half, a mini 6-0 run for MSOE (6-10, 3-6 NACC), capped off by a layup from Matus Dopirak put the Raiders with three, but the Eagles answered to lead 34-27 at the break.
- The Raiders attacked immediately to begin the second half with a 7-0 run, capped off by an and-one play by Donovan Carter to tie the game at 34 as the sides began to trade baskets. A three-pointer from Carter led the Raiders taking their largest lead at 56-47 right at the midway point of the second half, but the Eagles just minutes later tied the game at 56. The Eagles never created long runs the rest of the way, but unfortunately were able to put away the Raiders.
