MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's hockey team couldn't use the home-ice to their advantage Saturday after being blanked by Marian University in a weekend split.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 0
Marian - 4
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (9-8-2, 3-8-1 NCHA) came out of the gates firing shots at Marian (8-11-0, 2-8-0 NCHA) with shot totals of 12-6. The Sabres took full advantage of their shot opportunities, connecting on two goals in the period. Austin Schwab settled down in the second period, saving all ten shots he faced in the second period, but the Raiders continued to be unable to create any spark, down 2-0 after two.
- The Raiders hoped the power play would be what they could use to get back into the game, especially as the Sabres picked up their third goal of the game just minutes into the start of the third period. The Red & White had five opportunities to play a man-up but couldn't convert on any opportunity. As the clock began to tick and the Raiders pulling the goalie, the Sabres put the final nail in the coffin to cap off their night.
