MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's volleyball team kicked off it's season Tuesday night against #14 Loras College. The Duhawks used early set momentum to cruise past the Raiders in three sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Loras (2-0, 0-0 American Rivers) wasn't afraid to make MSOE (0-1, 0-0 NACC) shaky from the start, going on a 6-2 run to start only to be broken up with a service error and an ace from Carter Shavitz. The Raiders quickly regrouped and tied up the set at 12 on a kill from Seth Thomas and then taking advantage of a Duhawk error for the 13-12 lead. The two battled back and forth but it was the Duhawks that found themselves serving last for a 25-22 set one win.
- The Duhawks rolled that momentum into the second set starting a 5-1 lead before settling into a 14-8 lead midway through. A 7-3 kick-started by a Thomas kill put the Raiders to within two after a kill from Tommy Clausz but the Duhawks regrouped for to take a five-point lead. The Raiders hoped to swing the momentum back to their side stealing three points from Duhawk errors, but it all Loras the rest of the set 25-19.
- The Raiders played from behind to begin the third set as the Duhawks started on a 3-0 run when kills from Thomas and Carter Shavitz broke up their skid. The Duhawks never broke away from the Raiders, but slowly built up an enormous lead, cruising in the third set 25-16.
