MILWAUKEE –
Mason Dopirak recorded a near career day as the MSOE men's basketball team exploded offensively against Illinois Institute of Technology.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 96
Illinois Tech - 75
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Illinois Tech (4-16, 3-10 NACC) knocked down threes on their first two possessions but after just 2:39 seconds of play, they never saw the lead again with Carson Cordelli taking a layup for an 8-6 lead. MSOE (8-11, 5-7 NACC) were electric from the floor, shooting 62% from the floor and 66% from downtown. As the half came to a close, Dopirak rattled off the final seven points as they headed into the break leading 46-29.
- After a free-throw from the Scarlet Hawks, the Raiders kept their momentum rolling on a 9-0 run, kick-started by a layup from Cordelli. The Scarlet Hawks slowly caved into their deficit to down 19, but the miscues and mental mistakes and the Raiders rallied even further, including Dopirak with a steal and spin move to lob up to Anay Amoah to bring the crowd down to bring the lead to 84-52. The Raiders cruised on the rest of the way to win 96-75.
