MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's soccer team got back in the win column on Wednesday evening, as the Raiders bested the Sabres of Marian University in a high-octane affair at Viets Field, improving their home record to 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Raiders (7-4-0, 3-1-0 NACC) and Sabres (4-6-2, 1-2-2 NACC) both looked to push the pace of play on the attack, going up and down the field with long passes trying to generate goal scoring opportunities.  After trading shots back-and-forth in the opening ten minutes, MSOE broke through first, as Elizabeth Kuhn tapped in a goal from merely inches away after a pitch-perfect crosser from Addison Spilman at the 9:30 mark of the first half to put the Raiders up 1-0.
• Spilman to Kuhn would prove to be an effective combination for the Raiders, as the duo connected again at the 26:44 mark to put MSOE up 2-0 over the Sabres.  Goalkeeper Page Sanchez had a busy day in net, recording five saves and allowing no goals against a fast-paced Marian team that recorded six shots in the first 45 minutes of play.
• Claire Bradford would tally the third goal of the day for the Red and White just five minutes into the second half, as the Raiders began to settle in and dominate the time of possession.  The Raiders would finish the contest out-shooting the Sabres 23-7, including nine on goal, as MSOE would park the bus and earn a 3-1 conference win as time expired.
