Raiders Draw with Green Knights in De Pere

DE PERE, Wis. – As the regular season begins to wind down, the MSOE women's soccer team made their way to De Pere for a matchup against the Green Knights of St. Norbert College.  The Raiders would settle for a 0-0 draw in a defensive-minded conference clash, despite outshooting St. Norbert by a wide margin.

RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 0
St. Norbert Green Knights – 0

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Raiders (11-4-2, 7-1-2 NACC) would dominate the time of possession in first half, recording nine shots against the Green Knights (5-8-2, 4-4-2) across the first 45 minutes of play.  MSOE tallied seven corner kicks in the first half but were unable to convert any opportunities from inside the box, despite good looks from Addison Spilman and Faith Papazoglou at the midway point of the half.  The Red and White held the Green Knights to just one shot before the halftime break, as the Raiders would go on to outshoot St. Norbert 21-3 across 90 minutes of play.
  • MSOE was right back on the offensive to start the second half, as both Elizabeth Kuhn and Claire Bradford saw shots go wide left in the opening minutes following the break.  Despite dominating the total shots, the Raiders were unable to find the back of the net in De Pere.  Samantha Shaver and the MSOE back line stayed rock-solid all night, as Page Sanchez recorded three saves while the Red and White held their fifth straight opponent scoreless but came away just short of a win.
