HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Things all stayed in a one-possession game until midway through until Joey Jendusa nailed a three-pointer from Jordan Pollnow to give MSOE (3-2, 0-1 NACC) a 14-10 lead at the 10:53 mark. A layup from Mason Dopirak put the Raiders ahead by six until Illinois College (5-1, 0-0 Midwest) tied things at 17 just a short few minutes later. The Blueboys took the lead two possessions later that Donovan Carter and Dopirak answered the rest of the half as the score stayed silent from the final three and a half minutes as the Raiders held a two-point disadvantage heading into the break 26-24.
  • Chase Cummings tied up the game just two minutes into the second half and gave the Raiders a 30-28 lead right after. The Blueboys right after trickled off a double-digit lead 42-32 right after but was then cut down to four minutes later after Cummings nailed a three pointer with 11:21 remaining. Another three-pointer from Donovan Carter cut it to one before Carson Cordelli put the Raider back into the lead 45-44 as things continued to stay tightly contested down the stretch. After Carter completed a three-point play, the Blueboys took the lead with five minutes to play until CJ Valente nailed a three-pointer with 2:04 to play to take 58-57 lead. Two free-throws from Anay Amoah put the Raiders back ahead 60-59 and Jendusa put the final nail in the coffin with a free throw as they sealed the all-out battle.
